Alright everyone. After being involved in the eBike industry for quite a while, I wanted to share my thoughts on what I genuinely consider to be some of the safest electric trikes for seniors—the Meet One Tour Lite and Tour.

When we talk about electric trikes, safety really stands out as the most important thing. It's about stability, ease of use, and of course, comfort, all of which make riding a pleasure rather than a worry. Having tested quite a few trikes and listened to feedback from senior riders, I can confidently say that the Meet One Tour Lite and Tour are among the most comfortable and safest options you'll find.

Solid Stability for a Confident Ride

Tour semi-recumbent electric trikes

As you can see, both models in the Tour series feature a slightly elongated frame. This design, combined with the forward positioning of the pedals, means that when you're riding, your feet are actually pedaling out in front of you. Kind of like you're on a recumbent trike, you know? We call it a semi-recumbent design.

Now, what's the benefit of this? Well, first off, because the frame is longer, it creates a really stable and balanced riding platform, and the center of gravity is nice and low. This makes a big difference in reducing the risk of tipping, even when you're making turns or riding on uneven surfaces. I've tested them out myself, and I've seen plenty of senior riders maneuvering with ease – they're really solid.

Plus, because the center of gravity is low, the seat height is also quite low, which makes getting on and off super convenient, no need to strain those legs. A lot of folks have told me they find traditional bike frames difficult to navigate, but these trikes are designed with ease of use in mind.

Now, continuing on the topic of stability, the Tour series trikes come equipped with 20x4 inch wide tires. Add that to the lengthened frame and widened rear axle, and these trikes are just about impossible to tip over. I've tested them at higher speeds, and I've never had any issues with them while riding. They're incredibly safe when cornering. You can check out Richard's riding videos to see just how stable the Tour series e-trikes really are.

Of course, you can't take corners at 25 mph – that's the Tour's top speed – and expect perfect stability. If you ride recklessly, there's always a risk of tipping or crashing, just like with any vehicle.

Seat Comfort and Security

Meet one Tour electric trike's comfortable seat

Let's move on to comfort, which ties directly into feeling secure while you're riding. If you take a closer look, you'll notice the Meet One's large backrest is actually mounted to the rear frame. This isn't just a casual detail; it's designed so you can genuinely lean back and rely on it while you're riding. A lot of trikes require you to constantly balance and keep yourself upright, which can be tiring. But with this wide seat platform, you can simply sit back and relax, without worrying about slipping or falling off.

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the upgraded seat option – it's a bit like an office chair, really. It's incredibly comfortable. The mesh back provides excellent lumbar support, so it feels like you're sitting in a comfortable sofa while you're out enjoying your e-trike.

And to add to that comfort and stability, the Tour electric trike series also features full suspension. This means a smoother ride overall, even on bumpier surfaces.

Ease of Handling and Control

Now, let's talk about how easy these trikes are to handle. The half-twist throttle is a game-changer – it makes accelerating so simple and smooth, which is especially nice on longer rides. No more tired wrists from constantly twisting!

And here's a cool feature: they've got a torque sensor. It makes pedaling feel incredibly natural. The power adjusts automatically based on how hard you're pedaling, so you get a really smooth ride, whether you're on flat ground or going up a little hill.

Safety is always top of mind, of course. These trikes have hydraulic disc brakes, which give you really reliable stopping power. Super important for those unexpected stops! They've also got turn signals, brake lights, and even a reverse mode, which makes navigating all sorts of situations much easier.

As for power, the Tour Lite has a 750W motor in the back, and the Tour model has motors in both the front and back wheels. So you'll have plenty of power, no matter where you're riding.

Final Thoughts

Both models offer everything seniors need for a safe and enjoyable riding experience—unparalleled stability, ergonomic comfort, easy handling, and a braking system you can rely on. If peace of mind is what you're looking for, the Meet One Tour Lite and Tour should be at the top of your list.

I am 71 year grandma. I have no car and fell like a prisoner in my own home. I bout my breeze and I just love it. It has become my new best friend. The town I live in Winter Springs Fl has bike trails everywhere. I can just about go anyway in town without getting on the main rd. My breeze has taken me places I didn’t think I could get to. It’s easy to ride and comfortable. I love my baskets for grocery shopping
Thank you
